The impact of a monthly gift

08/13/2020

We recently spoke to Send a Cow supporter and Ambassador Margaret Watson about why making a regular gift in support of families in rural Africa means so much to her.

How long have you been a Send a Cow supporter for?

My husband, Andrew, and I started supporting Send a Cow about 15 years ago when it was part of The Telegraph’s annual charity appeal. It leapt out at us because it seemed so practical, so sustainable, and a long-term solution to poverty.

What inspired you to become a regular giver?

As we learned more, we felt that making a monthly donation made so much sense. It gives Send a Cow a steady, predictable income; it provides security for the farming families and the programs they join; and it gives us pleasure to know that we are a reliable part of Send a Cow’s wonderful work.

What would you say to other supporters who are considering making a regular gift?

Send a Cow is truly a hand up and not just a hand out. No matter how large or small your support, every penny makes a difference and regular giving makes it easy for both Send a Cow and its donors.

You too can make a long-lasting difference like Margaret

Regular gifts like Margaret’s support families in rural Africa every step of the way as they grow brighter futures from the land and become a force for change in their own lives.

The impact of a regular gift continues to grow as knowledge is passed from family to family, community to community and generation to generation. That means even more families will learn the skills and knowledge to transform their lives too.

Will you join supporters like Margaret and be there for families as they grow a future free from hunger and poverty?
