Directions: When in Pitney, follow signs for Pitney Farm Shop.
Parking: there is plenty of parking at the farm
Timings: 2.00 –5.00 (refreshments will be served from 4.00)
On arrival there will be a short walk to visit the Flood Alleviation Project which is helping to prevent flooding on the Somerset Levels. This will be followed by three speakers:
Bishop Ruth will provide the opening address.
Rob Walrond (local farmer and Rural Life Advisor to Bath & Wells) will speak about how the climate crisis is impacting farmers in Somerset and what they are doing to address some of these issues.
Titus Sagala (Agriculturalist and Send a Cow country Director in Kenya) will speak, via Zoom, about the climate crisis in rural Kenya and how Send a Cow is working with farming families to adapt to the crisis.
There will be time to ask questions and hear about how local churches can support Send a Cow’s work this Harvest. The afternoon will finish with refreshments and an opportunity to catch up with each other after a long time of being apart!
Do come early and have lunch in the café, or browse in the Farm Shop for quality organic produce!
