Send a Cow | Josephine and John laughing

After 41 years of marriage and 6 children, Josephine and John from Uganda are able to eat regular, nutritious meals and feed their children and grandchildren thanks to Send a Cow. Learning how to keep a cow and grow vegetables from their land has been transformational for the whole family.

Today, Josephine and John plant and harvest a variety of nutritious crops. For Josephine, growing and eating these vegetables and drinking milk from their cow have been the most immediate benefits from the training and resources they’ve received from Send a Cow.

"The cow that was given to us, which has been generous with its manure, calved down recently and now we drink milk. We are growing younger each passing day. I sold surplus vegetables and was able to buy a phone. I also was encouraged to rear chicken where our grandchildren are able to get animal protein. We eat like kings. This is beyond our wildest dreams." -
