Send a Cow is a growing and dynamic international development charity providing training, and ongoing support to smallholder farmers in Africa. We give poor families and communities the hope and the means to secure their own futures from the land, in line with our vision of a confident and thriving rural Africa. Send a Cow was set up in 1988 and now works in 6 African countries. Send a Cow Burundi (SACB) has 8 years’ experience of delivering successful agricultural development projects and its work is highly regarded in the country.

SACB is developing its staffing structure in line with a new 10 year strategic plan and in order to develop in-country fundraising and implement partnerships so as to reach more beneficiaries by 2030. To support this work, SACB is recruiting 1 Programme Development and Funding Manager, which is a senior role based in Bujumbura. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to grow into leadership and make an impact on the strategic direction of SACB at a time of ambitious growth.

The Programme Development & Funding Manager will be a member of the International Programme Funding Team, working closely with other in-country and UK based programme fundraisers as well, as serving on the SACB Senior Management Team. The post holder will lead on programme/project design, fundraising and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL).

The ideal candidate will have several years' relevant experience in an NGO, with at least 3 years' Senior Management leadership experience. Strong experience of programme fundraising from institutional donors and in developing and maintaining effective programmes with monitoring and evaluation systems in place is also essential.
