Job Description

Head of Public Fundraising
Newton St Loe, Bath
Circa £46k, depending on competencies and experience
Full time

Send a Cow is a growing and dynamic international development charity providing training, and ongoing support to smallholder farmers in Africa. We give poor families and communities the hope and the means to secure their own futures from the land, in line with our vision of a confident and thriving rural Africa.

Working with over 700,000 people a year across six countries, our approach has been developed for, and with, the communities we work with. That’s why it works. We don’t impose solutions, we help grow them from within. With our support, families get back the skills and confidence they need to make the most of their land – enabling them to grow enough food, earn a living and go after their dreams. And because the families we work with pass on what they know, success quickly multiplies from family to family, community to community, generation to generation.

This African-centred approach is proving effective and attracting the attention of potential funders and donors nationally and globally. That’s why we believe we can do more. To that end, we have just started developing an ambitious 10-year strategy to significantly increase the scale and impact of our work. It will be centred on maximising our contribution to delivering the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and working in deeper partnership with other INGOs with complementary skills and expertise.

This is an exciting and pivotal time to join Send a Cow.  We’re looking for an energetic Head of Public Fundraising who shares our vision and values and can move our public fundraising on to the next level. You’ll provide creative, bold and focused leadership to our newly formed department of Public Fundraising, which brings together all areas of fundraising from the wider general public and includes Individual Giving, Community fundraising and Events.  With a strong track record of delivering significant unrestricted income growth through public fundraising streams, you will help us realise our ambitious plans.

Does this sound like you? If so we would love to hear from you. Applications close at midnight on Monday 21st October.
