Send a Cow is a growing and dynamic international development charity providing training and ongoing support to smallholder farmers in Africa.
We give poor families and communities the skills and confidence they need to make the most of their land – enabling them to grow enough food, earn a living and go after their dreams. And because the families we work with pass on what they know, success quickly multiplies from family to family, community to community, generation to generation.
Over the last 30 years we have helped more than 2 million people develop the confidence to see what they have, use their land creatively and establish a new and sustainable economic trajectory for themselves, their families and their communities.
This African-centred approach is proving effective and attracting the attention of funders nationally and globally. That’s why we believe we can do more. To that end, we have just started developing an ambitious 10 year strategy that will run from 2020 – 2030 and significantly increase the scale and impact of our work.
It will be centred on maximising our contribution to delivering the Sustainable Development Goals and work in deeper partnership with other INGOs with complementary skills and expertise. And, it will see us grow new, non-traditional income streams including social finance, social enterprise and development impact bonds.
In order to support this work, we are seeking an experienced fundraising professional with a strong track record in securing major gifts and a confident approach to achieving ambitious income targets to lead our fundraising, marketing and communications team. You will share our passion to see poor smallholder farmers flourish and have a relational, servant-hearted approach to leaderships that lives out our core values of integrity, stewardship and accountability. Bringing energy, strong team ethic and disciplined focus to a talented team of 35, you will help us thrive and reach our untapped potential.
