Fight for the right to freedom from hunger
People in Burundi are some of the hungriest in the world; 3 in 5 people don’t have enough to eat.
But every day more than 4 million tonnes of food is wasted worldwide. The global food system is broken.
Industrial agriculture and intensive livestock farming are contributing to climate change. Extreme weather is destroying crops and the lives of the most vulnerable people.
Smallholder farmers in Burundi just want the chance to grow enough to eat.
With the right skills, their farming can work with the environment, not against it. But their voices aren’t being heard.
