2016-17 was a record breaking year for Send a Cow.
Our income grew by 6% to £6.9 million, an impressive achievement with given the challenging nature of the economic and fundraising environment.
We are thrilled to have reduced our cost of fundraising by 3% and spend more in Africa than ever before; 9% more than the previous year. This meant we could work with the most number of smallholder farmers we have ever worked with.
Overall we had a fantastic year at Send a Cow, with highlights including:
- Our Big Debate at London’s City Hall, chaired by BBC broadcaster, Jonathon Dimbleby
- We scored another A+ from DFID for our contract management of the Wealth Creation project in Kenya
- We won the Innovation award at the Bond International Development Awards
- We started a new project in Rwanda in partnership with the Royal Jersey Agricultural & Horticultural Society, thanks to a £1 million Jersey Overseas Aid grant
