Leave a gift in your Will

A good life. Pass it on

When you are blessed with a good life, its only natural to want to pass something on to the people you love, by providing for them in your Will.  But imagine how wonderful it would be if you were to pass on just a tiny fraction of what you have to struggling families in Africa, so they could enjoy a good life too.

This September, we’re very pleased to be offering free Will-writing services.

We have two options for you to chose from. These can be used either to make a new Will, or to update an existing one if your circumstances change.

Gifts in Will FAQs

How do I leave a gift to Send a Cow in my Will?

Leaving a gift in your Will is a very special way of supporting Send a Cow's work. Leaving a gift can be straightforward but we always advise that you should use a solicitor when making or amending your Will.  Read our guide to making a Will for more information.

How will a gift in my Will be used by Send a Cow?

Send a Cow know that rural African communities can overcome poverty, hunger and inequality for good.  We have already helped over a million smallholder farmers discover they can feed their families, make money, protect the environment and strengthen their communities through providing the right kind of training, support and resources.

Our work can vary over time and it is likely to be many years before we would receive your gift so it can be difficult to know exactly how it will be used.  However be assured that it will be used in the most effective way to continue to help people in rural Africa to fulfil their potential and work their way out of poverty for good.  If you would like to discuss any specific wishes you have, please contact Vickie Wood at vickie.wood@sendacow.org or call her on 01225 871947.

What difference will a gift in my Will make?

Every gift to Send a Cow makes a real practical difference, no matter the amount.  To read more about the impact your gifts could have, read our impact reports here.  For example after three years on a Send a Cow project, 97% of farmers can now provide enough food for their families and on average, household income increases six-fold.

Can a gift in my Will help me pay less inheritance tax?

Gifts to UK registered charities like Send a Cow are exempt from Inheritance Tax.  We would always recommend that you speak to a solicitor or financial adviser for advice on tax issues and whether your gift will affect tax payable on your estate.
